Week ending 31/1/16

On Monday I did a it of stretching just to loosen off my leg after the crash and I did some stuff on the rollers to free it up.
Every Tuesday I go to rugby for a roller session, this time I went in to it to see if my leg was alright but after ten to twenty minutes my leg started hurting. but luckily one person that goes to this roller session is a physio so she looked at it said I'd only strained it.
On Wednesday I did a little spin on the rollers.
Thursday is a hard day for me so I do my 3 minute intervals four times then either ten second springs or 30 second efforts. I did ten second sprints this time and got up to 37 mph.
On Friday I did a really fun roller ride were I just messed around but still did a ten minute block at 110rpm then I had fun doing one footed sprints track stands on rollers and things like that.
On Saturday I did a road ride with a group of adults around market bosworth area.
On Sunday I did another session at Derby with a cluster run by Halesowen and we did a race which I wasn't to pleased with after because at the start I was in a bad position then when the attacks started I couldn't go with them because I had to go the long way round and a girl was going at just the right speed so i couldn't get past because she was pushing me up but I backed off then spotted a gap on the red and dived for it got through then rode away from them but it was to late to catch the lead group because I only had three laps to go.

The cluster after Sunday best

After the Sunday best I did a cluster that was run by Wolverhampton and welland valley. In the first session the plan looked good but we got on the track on the back straight and the rider I front of me was already on the blue going really slow then he slipped and he slid down the track and into the side of me and brought me down in the crash and although my legs and arms took a bit of a battering my kit was alright and so was my bike. In the second session we did something called the dog bone were you ride on the red line on the straights and up to the railing on the corners then we did taking laps in twos. In the final session we did a big elimination with the intermediates and advanced group this time I did the same tactic as the earlier session and got to the final with about 6 other riders because we ran out of time.

Week ending 24/1/16

Monday is a set day for me in my training diary and it says to do core and gym work.
On Tuesday night I go to rugby and do a session with ed and a bunch from rugby velo there, it is designed for adults but we adapt it son I can do it.
Wednesday was a session Geoff set me called collecting points which is 10 seconds on 50 seconds off four times and repeat it twice but I did an extra lot.
Not felling well on Thursday having the night off.
I had a day off school on Friday because of illness so no riding today.
On Saturday we had a team day at midland bike fit where we got team kit, hoodies, a bike fit, discussions with Geoff or my dad, practicing practicals, tactics workshop and goody bags. In my discussion with Geoff we were talking about how I could achieve my goals and win races so now I've got an idea of what races I'm going to do and not do so I can get my goals.
Sunday was and early start I was on the track at 7a.m. With a Sunday best session that was based on the elimination race  and keirin races. In the elimination race which was what we focused on more we did a lot of group riding activities to start then in the final session we did an elimination race that I did really well in despite being the youngest there and I'd like to say sorry to josh for getting him out.my tactic was to dive underneath at the bottom of the track because I knew I wasn't the strongest there so I'd sit on the back and dive under on the end of the last turn but eventually I got eliminated by jack by about a centimetre.

Week ending 17/1/16

On Monday night I did some gym work but for a change I followed a video on YouTube instead of just doing what I feel like doing.
On Tuesday night I did a mega hard roller session were I did 4x3 minutes at above 26 miles an hour on three and drop a little bit bellow on the last one then I did 30 seconds on 2 minutes off four times and then went to the track to support nearly all the academy racing on the track.
On Wednesday I did a GCN video one that I haven't done before and it was half an hour long.
On Thursday I did the same 4x3 minutes effort followed by five ten second sprint were I did a max speed of 38.2 mph.
Friday night was a rest night for me.
Saturday I did a really enjoyable road ride where for the first time I had a plan of what I was going to do in that ride.in the ride which was 30 miles long I did two long efforts over ten to twenty minutes I went up Boot Hill which I one of the hardest climbs I've been up and a few sprints.i felt the ride was on the same level of enjoyment and hardness as the team ride on New Year's Eve.it was fun because I wasn't thinking about how hard the road was ahead I was thinking about when my next effort was or how long left of the effort. It was hard as well because of the hill and the long effort that I did.
On Sunday I did a lot on all sorts of bikes. Early on I was at the track for a cluster session run by Melton Olympic. it was a really good session because I was helping the coach like leading out and leading lumps and bumps. Then I went out on the road at 1 PM just for an hour but I still did some fast pedalling segments in the ride. When we got back I changed my shoes to flats and went in the snow on my mini bike for over 1 hour.

Week ending 10/1/16


This week I have had a good week of training for both road and track.
On Monday I had an easy day and did some core and fitness work in the evening.
On Tuesday I went out for a steady ride and did about 15 miles.
On Wednesday I had a hard but short session on the rollers to get me ready for a really hard Thursday night session.
On Thursday I did a really hard session on the rollers I did a five mile effort that I did in 12 minutes then five 10 second sprints were my max speed was 39.1mph and max cadence was 179 rpm.
On Friday I jus t did half an hour and did a session that Geoff has sent me. And had my first crash of 2016.
On Saturday I went to the national crooks champs in Shrewsbury to help the riders from the academy and senior team in the pits.
On Sunday I went to the track and did a cluster session which felt like a waste of time because it was so slow.

Week ending 3/1/16

New Year's Eve This week I have had a good week of training in preparation for the road season which starts for me in the next few months.
On Monday I had a day helping team Jewson at the national cross champs.
On Tuesday I went to Cannock chase with Ed and did 2.5 to 3 hours of mountain biking and having fun.
On Wednesday I went out on the road with my mum and did an hour and a half.
On Thursday we did our first team ride around mine and Ed's roads and about 30 miles in we had a cafe stop at Newton Regis garden centre and all together we did 50 miles with a fast bit at the end.
On Friday I only did an hour so I could recover from Thursday's ride.
On Saturday me and my mum went out and did an hour and fifteen minutes.
On Sunday I went to Derby velodrome and did a Sunday best session doing Madison with jack my partner, josh and Owen and probably did 180 laps.
